I just love almond milk. I feel like whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or neither, almond milk should be a staple in your diet.
It's fairly easy to make and doesn't cost you too much. The issue with (non-organic) almond milk that you find in your local supermarkets is that they usually have a really LONG ingredient list.
Unless you find good organic almond milk, it would be much simpler for you to make your own at home.
I do make this milk sweetened. You can choose to keep it un-sweetened by not adding dates to your milk.
Soak your organic almonds in cool temperature water for around 12 hours minimum. You can go up to 24 hours for better results.
Add your soaked organic almonds, the 7 cups of water, salt, and dates to a blender on high speed. Blend for around 2 minutes
In a large bowl, strain your almonds (you can use a fine strainer, nut milk bag, or ever a thin dish towel). Transfer the milk to a jar and you're done! It can be stored in the fridge for around 4 days.
